Thanks to the 649 MMA Members who took the time and effort to participate in the 2009 Contract Survey, which was conducted on our website from January 1 st through January 15 th.
The top three priorities resulting from the survey were as follows: the number one priority was Health/Dental Insurance; General Wage Adjustment ranked second; and Step Progression ranked a very close third.
In addition, almost 500 other written comments were submitted on numerous issues ranging from the deferred compensation match to severance improvements.
The MMA staff compiled all of the information and along with the MMA attorneys thoroughly reviewed and discussed the survey data with the MMA Negotiations Committee on March 22 nd and 23 rd; resulting in the establishment of MMA ’s contractual proposals. These proposals will be presented to the State at our initial meetings on April 2 nd and 3 rd.
The remaining negotiations dates are as follows: May 4 th, 5 th and 6 th; June 4 th and 5 th; and July 9 th and 10 th if required. The other July and August dates outlined in a previous website article (dated 2/6/09 ) have now been cancelled.
Updates will follow as negotiations proceed and relevant information develops.
